Challenges

Product, order, and customer data migration from the existing platform to the new one, ensuring data integrity throughout the Magento migration process, as the client does not want to lose any historical customer information.
The design of the websites needed to be simple and clean, providing an easy-to-navigate interface that would make ordering products straightforward for both retail and wholesale customers.
The client wants to represent products in different layouts on the retail and wholesale category pages to ensure that wholesale customers can order products quickly, as they are already familiar with the products, while retail customers can easily explore and discover products.
For the Wholesale customer need to create wholesale application form to register as wholesale customer and customer account will be approved by the admin.
A key requirement was that both websites would display the same product catalog but with different pricing structures. Retail customer would see standard pricing while wholesale customer would see trade pricing.
The admin panel needed to be efficient in managing product listings, pricing, and order processing across both domains, ensuring that the client could easily update product details, manage inventory, and process orders for both retail and wholesale customers from a single, unified interface.
Client also requires a seamless checkout process, ensuring that customers could complete their purchases quickly and without confusion. This focus on simplicity and ease of use with positive experience.

Solution

For the design, where the client wants to represent product layouts differently on each website to ensure a smooth experience for each customer group, we suggested a custom design approach. Our expert UI/UX developers created simple and elegant designs tailored to the specific requirements of both websites.

A custom form was created for the wholesale application with the requested fields to be filled out by wholesale customers for their account opening requests. The submitted form is then sent to the client via email, including the details for review.
To accommodate the different pricing structures for both websites, we utilized Magento’s built-in functionality to manage multiple websites. This allows the admin to set individual product prices for each website, ensuring that pricing is tailored appropriately for each audience.
For a seamless checkout experience, we used the OneStep Checkout extension for Magento. This extension allows customers to complete their checkout process in a few simple steps with minimal effort.
